Recently, I’ve been thinking about how do I as a person-centred researcher/culture developer know when a person or a team is ready to start exploring person-centredness/culture ? In other words what needs to be in place to enable people to start on this process. The literature is not clear on what ‘being ready’ or what ‘being ready enough’ looks like. Connected to this, I also wonder about what each person in a team needs to take responsibility for in regards to preparing for cultural change. When you realise a change is coming how do you prepare for it? Of course preparing for something that is an unknown process and experience is very challenging. It is not just about having evidence, other things are involved. While people often want the world around them to be better, they less often give serious attention to changing themselves.
